Counting some bigger blessings today that I sometimes take for granted. I am so thankful forโ€ฆ

1. First and foremost – my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His work on the cross to provide salvation for a sinner like me.

2. The Bible – itโ€™s so amazing to think about how we have Godโ€™s very own words to guide and direct us!

3. My family – six wonderful siblings, a sister-in-love, a niece, and two amazing parents (as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousinsโ€ฆ)

4. My church family

5. Our country and the blessing we have had to live out our God-given freedoms (although these freedoms are being threatened today in very alarming ways)

6. For the brave men who pledged their lives, fortunes, and scared honor 245 years ago to stand against tyranny.

7. Edifying friendships

  1. I am so grateful for some truths from God’s Word that I read in Acts 17 today. I am thankful that…

    1. God is “Lord of heaven and earth…” vs. 24
    2. “He gives to all life, breath, and all things.” vs. 25
    3. God has made all mankind and has “determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings…” vs. 26
    4. “He is not far from each one of us…” vs. 27
    5. God has given us assurance through Jesus’s resurrection. vs. 31

  2. On day 5 I am thankful for:

    1. What Godโ€™s Word says about faith:
    โ€œBut without faith it is impossible to
    please Him, for He who comes to
    God must believe that He is, and
    that He is a rewarder of those who
    diligently seek Him.โ€ – Hebrews 11:6
    2. Bible Bee and how it encouraged me to memorize more of Godโ€™s Word.
    3. The amazement and enjoyment of Godโ€™s creation.
    4. Answered prayer.
    5. A sunny day.

  3. I smiled as I typed out my list before I opened your blog and read your list! Fun to see some similarities there on #2 & #7๐ŸToday I am THANKFUL:

    1.) for the trials I face and the promise that they are much more precious than gold!

    โ€œIn this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christโ€

    2.) for friendship!!

    โ€œA man that hath friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.โ€ Proverbs 18:24

    3.) for the WORD of GOD! It truly is the rejoicing of my heart. โ™ฅ๏ธ
    โ€œThy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.โ€ Her 15:16

    4.) for all the times the Lord has answered my prayers with โ€œWAITโ€ as through the seasons of waiting He has strengthened my faith and has caused me to wait upon Him!

    โ€œAnd now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.โ€ Ps 39:7

    5.) for the promise โ€œI will never leave you nor forsake you.โ€
    โ€œBe strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.โ€* Deut 31:6

    6.) for the ability to bear each other’s burdens!
    โ€œBear one anotherโ€™s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.โ€ Gal 6:2

    7.) for naps! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ค

  4. Today I am thankful for:

    1. Pumpkin pie!
    2. The perfect combination of covers that I sleep under. So cozy!
    3. A warm house!
    4. Our digital piano, on which to practice Christmas songs.
    5. This verse that I read a few days ago:
    Psalm 50:23 โ€œThe one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!โ€

    1. Hi Rachel!! #2 – yes! I think everyone has that perfect combination of covers. For chilly weather, mine is fleece throw, sheet, and then light quilt. ๐Ÿ˜Š Christmas songs before Thanksgiving!? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I canโ€™t scold, though, because we are going to have to start practicing those pretty soon.
      That verse from Psalm 50 is so encouraging! Thanks for sharing! ๐Ÿฅฐ

  5. Oh, you ladies had some wonderful spiritual blessings in your lists today!! “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…” (Ephesians 1:3)

    I’m thankful for…
    1. Songs, Hymns and Spiritual Songs! What a beautiful blessing when God gave us music + the ability to sing! “…speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord…” (Ephesians 5:19)
    2. My friend and dear sister-in-Christ from Texas!๐Ÿฅฐ I’m so thankful for ALL of her encouragements and investment in my life through prayers!! SUCH a blessing to me!๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
    3. The sun popping out for a glorious Fall evening!!๐Ÿ
    4. Fun times with my brother today.๐Ÿ˜Šโ™ฅ
    5. That He works in our hearts in ways beyond understanding! What a gracious, loving Father is our God!โ™ฅ
