Today I am thankful for…
1. My brother Jared and the birthday celebration we are having for him tonight! 🥳🍦
2. Left-over ham that made a delicious breakfast of ham and eggs this morning.
3. Texts from a friend that made me laugh out loud. 😂
4. Being reminded once again to give thanks in EVERYTHING.

5. The yummy beets that I enjoyed last night (and again for lunch today). 😋

Okay, it Jared’s birthday today, so I am going to share 5 things about him that I’m thankful for!
1. His love for God and His Word. Several years ago I remember noticing that Jared read his Bible every night before he went to bed (besides his regular morning Bible reading) and seeing his example and faithfulness in that encouraged me to do the same.
2. His generosity! Seriously, Jared is one of the most generous people I know (but he is also a faithful steward and spends his money wisely). One example of his generosity is that every now and then he buys ice cream for the whole family for a Friday movie night. Even the expensive ice cream for the dairy-free people! 😉
3. His crazy side! Most people don’t ever see that side of him, but his siblings do pretty often. 😁 We have a lot of fun together, with waaay too many inside jokes!
4. His hard work and diligence. Jared works hard in all that he does… he started his own painting job and he sells on EBay, along with a full time job at a sawmill, where he and Jacob are highly valued!
5. His and mine’s similarities in our love of Southern Gospel music and politics, and in being Silvey introverts. 😂
And today is also a very special day for me…
6. I am so thankful for my salvation. This day 10 years ago I believed on Jesus and repented of my sins! It has been a sweet walk, and I am just humbled and amazed at God’s mercy and love today!

Yes, his birthday was SO much fun! Especially since Amanda asked one of his favorite Southern Gospel groups, The Inspirations, to record a Happy Birthday video for Jared! They were so hilarious and it was very special for Jared… he said it was better than any present he could have gotten. 😊

Happy Friday!!!🍁 Today I’m thankful for –
1. Two special Christmas work projects finished and ordered this week!!
2. A sweet sister visit + slow country road drive this morning!
3. Jude verses 24-25…”Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.” ♥
4. Fun with my brother today!! 🙂 I’m so, so, so thankful for our close relationship, and for his openness to talk to him whenever I need to.♥ Just a little note to self and encouragement here – sibling relationships need to be built now!!! Now that he’s married, I’m SO grateful that we are close!!♥ When a sibling is at home is the most convenient time to build, and those relationships built can then last a lifetime!! Praise the Lord! Now may I remember that and build, build, build! 🙂
5. A Scrumptious meal prepared by my mother this evening!!
6. The AMAZING crisp temps and big moon out tonight that make it so very lovely!

This week has flown by! There is so much to be thankful for:
1. Bible Bee- We watched the live stream today and hearing the participants recite scripture was such a blessing. I am thankful we live in a country where we can openly read and talk about God’s Word.
2. Jared- Today was his 26th birthday and he is such a blessing to our family.
3. Deer- I spent most of the day processing a deer Jacob shot this week. It was a blessing to get it all put in the freezer.
4. Clothes lines- I so much enjoy hanging our clothes outside and getting to enjoy being outside and for the money we save not using our dryer.
5. Time with family- Making memories as a family is so important. Technology can get in the way of our family relationships. I am thankful for the times we just sit around talking.
