In Everything Give Thanks Challenge

Day 21 & 22 – In Everything Give Thanks Challenge!

Time for Day 21 & 22 of the In Everything Give Thanks Challenge!

My thankfuls for…

[Sunday]

1. An encouraging message on the importance of prayer.

2. The enjoyment some of my siblings and friends get from rainy, grey days like today, even though I don’t enjoy them as much as sunny ones. 😊

3. An impromptu family watch-party this afternoon of one of our favorite Gospel quartet groups, the Inspirations.

4. My youngest sister’s act of kindness in pouring my tea that I had put on to boil.

5. A soothing cup of hot tea before bed.

[Monday]

1. The fun surprise video my brother got for his birthday that we are still smiling about and have watched multiple times.

2. My favorite kind of day (sunshine and blue skies☀️) right after my least favorite kind of day (dreary and rainy🌫).

3. A lovely afternoon walk, with all (but one) of the animals in tow.

4. Getting excited about Christmas music!

5. The reminder that, even when it seems like evil is prevailing on the earth, God is in control!

“O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” -2 Chronicles 20:6, 12

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”

-James 1:17

  1. As I cleaned the kitchen this evening I started thinking about all the cleaning things I so easily take for granted and how much easier they make my chores. So today I’m thankful for:

    1.) running water!!!!!🚰
    2.) Dish rags!
3.) Vinegar! Anyone else use vinegar for cleaning? 😅
    4.) Trash Bags
    5.) A working Garbage disposal!
    6.) Brooms
    7.) Dish soap!!

“For those whom HE foreknew HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, in order that HE might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom HE predestined HE also called, and those whom HE called HE also justified, and those whom HE justified he also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30

    1. It IS easy to take little things, like cleaning supplies, for granted! I use vinegar as well! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I also like using Castile soap and essential oils. 😊

  2. Yay! I always love these double days. 😁 Here are my Sunday and Monday thankfuls…

    Sunday:
    1. A slower-paced Sunday morning. It is so nice when you are not having to rush around at the last minute getting ready to go to church!
    2. The refreshing truth of God’s Word.
    3. A cloudy, rainy day… which made for a cozy day inside! ☺️
    4. A book I am reading right now, Home-Making by J.R. Miller.
    5. A Sunday afternoon watching the Inspirations!

    Monday:
    1. This reminder from 2 Corinthians 10:4,5- “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
    2. The love of God! “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved is, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 3:10-11
    3. A new week! 🗓
    4. Pockets to keep my hands warm.
    5. A delicious dinner of Chicken and Rice, potatoes, sautéed carrots, and green beans. 🥔🥕

  3. Good evening, ladies!!🙋‍♀️🤗 Oh, I love that reminder from 2 Chronicles 20:6, 12!! Thank you so much for sharing, Amanda!♥ I’m here for a two-day catch-up comment…I’m thankful for:

    Sunday –
    1. Powerful encouragement in our Bible study! I was reminded of Ephesians 4:20-24 – “But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
    2. Three friends having us over to their “new place” for a meal, visit and games!
    3. Getting to read God’s Word with these friends and sing and pray together! That was really special fellowship.♥
    4. God’s daily mercies in helping me to grow, even when my growing is slow going. I was blessed by the challenge of Romans 1:1-2 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
    5. Being able to play music. Enjoyed getting to play my friend’s piano…it brings me joy to be able to play.😊

    Monday –
    1. The blessing of family meal time! We may not be able to always have everyone at home for every meal, but the blessing of everyone who is at home gathering together is so huge!💕
    2. The blessing of our morning Bible reading together! Again, even if everyone’s not always at home these days, the blessing of gathering after breakfast with as many as are here is such a tremendous one!♥ So thankful to be able to start the day off that way!
    3. The ability that God gives us to sing!♥
    4. The ability to whistle.😊
    5. Lip balm! With the drying, cooler weather, I find it a necessity, for which I’m thankful!!

    1. Thank you for sharing those verses from Ephesians, Martha Joy! ❤ When I read them this morning they were EXACTLY what I needed to hear to strengthen my mind on God and the truth in a time of struggling with temptation. The phrase "the truth is in Jesus" really jumped out at me and helped me to choose the truth!!
