Happy Thanksgiving! š¤š§” I hope everyone has a wonderful day of being with family and reflecting on the many blessings that God has given us! When I was thinking about this holiday and the verses that talk about giving thanks, this great psalm of thanksgiving immediately came to mind:
āMakeĀ a joyful shout to theĀ Lord,Ā all you lands! Serve theĀ LordĀ with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that theĀ Lord, HeĀ isĀ God; it isĀ HeĀ whoĀ has made us, andĀ not we ourselves; we areĀ His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, andĀ into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him,Ā andĀ bless His name. For theĀ LordĀ isĀ good; His mercyĀ isĀ everlasting, and His truthĀ enduresĀ to all generations.āĀ (Psalm 100)
I had some big thankfuls from this past week:
- Hugs from my nana ā¤ļø
- A friend trying to get me excited about my wisdom teeth removal. š
- Dairy-free ice cream (that tastes good!)
- That God knows all things (Jer. 12:3, 1 John 3:20)
- That He is carrying His purposes out, and nothing can stop that (Isaiah 14:27)
- The smell of pecan pie fresh out of the oven
- My brother Jared, whoās birthday was this week! Iām so thankful for the wise, godly young man that he is, and that heās one of my best friends! š
- The music that fills our house on a daily basis – whether itās John playing his guitar and singing in his room at night, Jacob playing his banjo, Grace playing the piano, or our evening hymn we sing as a family.
- Godās promise that He will give āperfect peaceā to the one whoās mind is stayed on Him. (Isaiah 26:3)
- All of my siblings coming along for our weekly Sunday afternoon walk.
- My wisdom teeth removal going smoothly.
- Encouraging messages and prayers from friends and family.
- Pain medication! š
- The amazing doctor and nurse, who made me feel at ease with being put out for the first time.
- My wonderful family who have been waiting on me this week during my recovery.
- A life-saving head wrap ice pack holder that my aunt told me about. Donāt know what I would have done without it!
- Finding creative ways to eat certain foods.
Just a little heads up, next Thursday (December 1) will be the final Thankful Thursday post for the challenge, and we will be doing the giveaway on that post!

#1- How neat that you were on the phone with your Dad at just the right time. So glad the Lord protected you!!
#2- Games with the siblings are the BEST! š§”
#6- I am glad that was an encouragement to you!
#13- I was QUITE concerned about that kitty when John showed me Brandonās comments about it on Facebook. š±š š I was very relieved to hear it was going to be safe as a barn cat! š±ā„ļø

Haha! No worries there. Brandon’s not a cat hater. Though, we like to joke around about it. Our friend, Mr. Hunt, mentioned that he likes cats, “they taste like chicken” he said. LOL Bryce and Benjamin had been wanting to have a barn cat for a while because of rodents, so this is a great answer to Bryce’s prayer because he had asked God once for one!

Yes! He looks kind of like a lynx. His ears have fluff that sticks up like that and he’s kind of greyish with stripes!

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving, reflecting on Godās goodness to us. We enjoyed a good time with family and food! Before we went to bed last night our family thought over the last year and talked about what we were thankful for. Here are some of those:
Our new grandson, Jackš„°
Being able to be involved in some political races this past year, specifically the governorās race and our state senate race, of which neither of them won, but the experience was life changing for our family.
Jacob being able to get a new truck in an unexpected way(someone rear ended him and the insurance company gave him a sizable settlement.š)
And being able to purchase a home with some land.
Now for some of my thankfuls from the past week:
1. Celebrating Jaredās birthday.
2. Using Sarahās nice sewing machine for a project.
3. Finding some good eggs for Sarah at the grocery store.
4. The example of fervent prayer from Daniel 9.

1. reminder from the week 3 verse for this challenge from Ephes. 5 to sing and make melody in my heart to The Lord + 2 days later: the multiple verses I’m assigned this week, all telling me to sing to The Lord [the Ephesians one, Psalm 92:1-2 + Colly is doing a separate challenge for our family with a verse per person each week and the theme of this week with our verses also was to sing to the Lord; which is something I knew I was supposed to be making some time to do, but had been neglecting most days, though I enjoy it so much!]

3.stories of what God has done for people
4. God’s kindness to me day by day

6.that Jesus is my friend
7.some friends’ visit for thanksgiving
8.that we had enought Erythritol (which we don’t always keep in stock) to use in some desserts and the sweet potato casserole so Mrs. H. could have some (she doesn’t eat sugar)
