Iβm thankful for a walk with Aunt Lynn in the beautiful weather on Election Day!ππ God Bless America!πΊπΈπΊπΈβ€οΈ -Grace S.

Some beautiful fall foliage from Colleen W. ππ

And one of my highlights from the past week – getting to dress up as an 1800’s lady and sing with some friends!
Who all is doing the Scripture memorization? I was thankful to have gotten the first two memorized this week! It did help that they were already kind of familiar to me. π

I can’t wait to hear everything that you all found to be thankful for this past week, and to start another week of giving thanks to the Lord together! π

I have found ever so many roses this past week! As I have been filling in my simple journal there has been so much to write down in my daily life during this week.
I am thankful ever so much, with fullness of heart, for these special blessings. And I will treasure them up and lay them at the feet of my Lord each day.
-For healing my little dog who was bit on her neck, that she has lived and every day grows better! For the person who I talk to at evening that has encouraged in the Course, to fight for Him who died for me. For the simple earnings of my shop. For joy in spite of trials, and peace in the storms of life. For green foliage that still lives in my small garden. For the healing in my back from pain. For strength to my limbs, and words restored again so I may write poetry. For my pens and paper that I may write. For a brother that kindly plans a game for me with others. And for dirty dishes to wash each day for near a hour.
For all these things and more, I thank my blessed Lord. I could make this list even longer, but it would fill a book.
God bless all who have blessed me this week, and who’s prayers have risen to the Throne on behalf of me. I pray for them and may they be blessed.
I am so rich in the blessings of my good and gentle Shepherd! I could sing the Gloria Patri and the Doxology with every word my own.
Thank you for doing this challenge Amanda! And your blessings from this week are so lovely as well!

I noticed that we had some of the same thankfuls this week, Amanda! π I love how this challenge stretches me to continually think of how I can be thankful, even in situations where I would normally complain. I had a few of those this week, and instead of giving into negative thoughts, I was reminded to give thanks instead!
Here are my highlights from the week:
1. Laughter
2. The hope I have in Christ – “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:19-20)
3. The book of Hebrews!
4. God’s mercy… “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 8:12)
5. For all of us siblings still living at home, even though it makes things a little crowded and hectic at times. π
6. Chai tea
7. Ebay
8. That the abortion amendmentΒ failed in Florida!
9. Fall weather
10. Family worship

I’m so glad you’re hosting this challenge again, Amanda! I’ve really enjoyed reviving my thankfulness list and reading over last year’s additions!
A few of my favorite things that made the list this week are:
Ferns blowing and streaming in the wind.
Walking down the driveway in the dark with the wind whipping about me.
Getting to hold a baby on Sunday.
Sitting outside writing as a storm rolled in. (The gusts of wind were superb!)
My sister helping me learn a hymn on the piano.
Getting an Icee from a local gas station.
It has been a lovely week and I’m looking forward to noticing more little and big things to praise God for next week too!

That can be a tricky hymn to play! And To God Be the Glory is such a good one! Will we be hearing those at the hymn sing? π

Thanks! It’s the same one I wore last year, so that made me very happy. We didn’t have a tea party this time (we did do that earlier this year on a rainy day π₯Ά), but we did sing and play music! Loved reading your thankful highlights! π

I almost included Gabriel’s Oboe on my list too! It’s cool that we’ve both been enjoying that beautiful piece of music recently.

So thankful for this Thanksgiving Challenge. The verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 has been on my mind this week as I have thought about what I am thankful for. The verse says, βin everything give thanksβ. I have thought about how that means to give thanks for EVERYTHING. We tend to only thank God for the good things in our life. Sometimes God uses hard things in our life to grow us closer to Him.
Here are some highlights from my week of being thankful:
I am doing the memorization also and plan to recite them to a friend on the phone. Hiding Godβs word in your heart is one of the best things you can do!

That is such a good thought about giving thanks for everything – the hard and the good. And Lamentations 3 is a chapter I have been very thankful for at the start of this 2nd week of the challenge. β€οΈ
