How can we only have one more week left in this challenge!!?? 😱 It seems like it has flown by this year. This past week I was thankful for:
- A good night’s rest
- Homemade yogurt
- Seeing the Lord’s guidance in a very personal way.
- The wonderful feeling I had after getting my desk cleaned off and re-decorated.
- An unexpected text from one of my brothers. 😊
- Not getting stuck in some bad traffic that was on the interstate when traveling back from the city.
- Jesus Christ being a compassionate High Priest who can sympathize with our weaknesses, with our pain.
- The ability and invitation we have to come boldly to the throne of grace, and the mercy and help that we can find there. (Hebrews 4) ❤️
- Friends and family who point me to the Lord and His Word.
Okay, I thought I’d liven things up on here with a question this week: 😁
What was your hardest thankful to write this past week, and what was your most fun one to write?
My hardest: That Jesus helps us to forgive, even when it is so very hard (“bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. -Colossians 3:13)
Most fun: Ice cream! 😋🍨

Deadline is Wednesday of each week

My mother went home to be with the Lord two years ago. I was looking at this little rocking chair today and thinking about her. Her daddy was a carpenter and made this chair for her when she was a baby, 85 years ago. I am thankful for my Godly mother; she worked hard in the home, was very generous, loved children, had a servant’s heart. Most importantly, she trusted Christ for salvation when she was 14 years old. I will see her again someday. My mother: Marion Loftin, February 17, 1939 – November 18, 2022. -Laura H.

I was so thankful this week to get to process about 125 lbs of deer meat with my youngest son, Jacob. 🙂🦌 -Dana S.

I am so thankful for this plate and piano music box that I have to remember my Aunt Jackie (who passed away this year). They now decorate a corner of my desk. 🙂
We just have one more week with the Scripture Memorization plan! These verses have really been an encouragement to me as we’ve been setting our minds on thankfulness this month. 😊

Things I was thankful for this last week:
One of the harder things I thanked God for this week was some raw conversations that brought difficult news (yet, necessary and helpful news)
The Funnest thing I was thankful for this week was: Discovering and listening to nice older Christian lady’s podcast on homemaking! 🙂 It has been adding spark to my days! 🙂

Hi Miss Brook,
The ‘podcast’ I found is a youtube channel. She also has her videos indented into her blog. Her name is Lydia Sherman and a lot of her videos are headed by the title “Homemaking Broadcast.” And her blog is called homeliving.blogspot.com

Some of the things that I was thankful for this week:
My hardest thankful this week would be being thankful that God hears our prayers even when we don’t know what to pray.
The most fun thankful would be riding home from Texarkana with my husband and listening to a fun idea he had for our new house. He was so excited about telling me that we missed both of our exits and had to drive a few miles down the highway to turn around.😁

One of the hardest things to be thankful for is the lesson Jesus teaches us in Luke 6 to pray for our enemies. That’s tough! Yet, because of His great mercy for us, we can extend that to others and continue seeking His highest good.
One of the most fun things to be thankful for is a front row parking spot at Hobby Lobby.😁

I am thankful this week for…
My hardest thankful was that our wise Heavenly Father doesn’t always give us what we ask for/think we need.
A fun thankful was definitely getting to spend more time with my bros this week, and staying up too late watching our favorite comedy videos by Studio C. 😂

Where is November going to?!😱 Some of my highlights from last week are…
*The colder weather!🥶🧣
*An interaction we had at the estate sale we did of my aunt’s things who passed away earlier this year…a gentleman walked up and when asked how he was doing, he replied : “I am doing great! Every day is a great day.” 😊😊
*That Jesus laid down His life for me✝️🤍
*A wonderful mother who gave me some massages during some neck pain last week🥰
*A beautiful Bible study with a friend!
*Sweet time spent with a dear friend, who I call my adopted Grandma, writing a song and sharing from our hearts💞
My hardest thankful was thanking God for His strength through some difficult neck issues and the opportunity we have through pain to rely on His strength more.🙏🏻
One of my fun thankfuls was for brothers who took me shopping at a thrift store and patiently endured me “trying on the whole store” in their words.😁

I’m thankful for FaceTime! My daddy needed me to pick up a thermostat at Home Depot. There are several options now. 😂 I was able to FaceTime with him and get the one he needed.
I’m thankful for cold mornings! I love stepping outside early in the morning and breathing in the crisp air.
I’m thankful for quiet times. I love going outside and just sitting in the grass and reflecting on things.
I’m thankful for a period of rest. We finished up cc for the year. We will still have other things to do, but we will have one less thing to do.
I’m thankful to gather with the saints and sing praises to God! Yesterday, a dear friend hosted a hymn sing. I had been looking forward to it! It was such a dear time. Thankful for all those brothers and sisters.
I’m thankful for slow mornings. Mornings to read and just relax for a minute. Afterwards, I cleaned. I’m thankful to be able to clean! A reset for the rest of the week.
In all things, I’m thankful God has ordered! Praise the Lord!

Well I did very poorly with keeping up with the challenge this week, but here’s what I wrote down/remember😆
The beautiful weather today!
The deep blue of Lake DeGray as I drove past it while out and about making propane deliveries.
A warm meal I had waiting for me when I got home….and most importantly my sister who prepared it for me![By the way, in full disclosure this comment was not made out of any kind of obligatory feeling for the above comment made about certain brothers doing housework….]🤣
The closer look I got at the full moon through binoculars after a prompt from a friend😉
For safety in driving home in a bad rainstorm Monday night with less than optimal wipers😬

Ah, yes! And to answer your questions:
Maybe not hard, but one of the most challenging thankfuls I put down was a stirring and convicting invitation message at my Grandmom’s church. It was based on Acts 22:16 – “And now why are you waiting?” He took it beyond just a salvation theme by posing – imagine if David hadn’t gone against Goliath? Or Isaiah hadn’t said, “Send me!” Or Abraham hadn’t left Ur…or the Hebrew three had just bowed to the idol? What if they had just hesitated and not obeyed? He asked, “What is holding you back? What is standing in your way? What do you think is going to change?” A powerful reminder to be bold in our faith and obedience!
One of the most fun: My niece being SO excited when Grandaddy (my daddy) stopped by their house one evening. He was so tickled! 😀
